Fake Emails  Reply with quote

We have been made aware of the following email that has been sent to some of our users:

"Dear user of e-mail server "Your-site.com",

Our main mailing server will be temporary unavaible for next two days,
to continue receiving mail in these days you have to configure our free auto-forwarding service.

For details see the attached file.

The Management,
The Your-site.com team http://www.your-site.com "

or

"Hello user of Your-site.com e-mail server,

We warn you about some attacks on your e-mail account. Your computer may
contain viruses, in order to keep your computer and e-mail account safe,
please, follow the instructions.

Advanced details can be found in attached file.

The Management,
The Your-site.com team http://www.your-site.com "

These are not emails that we have sent. The attachment was not viewable, but I'm assuming it is either a virus or a trojan. As a general rule of thumb, never open attachments from anyone, even someone you know, especially if the wording of the email is as akward as these 2 are.
